Principal (Supervisor) R&D Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Principal R&D Engineer to join a leading manufacturing group, based in Limburg, with operations in over 100 countries worldwide. 

Working within a fast-growing and dynamic division of this global organisation, you will play a pivotal role in developing and advancing the technological capabilities of an innovative product portfolio. Acting as the technical authority within the team, you will combine hands-on engineering expertise with overall project leadership responsibilities, driving engineering excellence and innovation across the department.

You will provide leadership and mentorship to a team of engineers, helping to develop talent, optimise resources, and maintain high levels of productivity and performance. Working closely with cross-functional stakeholders, you will lead major development projects, establishing project plans, budgets, timelines and resource requirements, while monitoring progress, managing risks and ensuring the successful delivery of key milestones.

As a key technical and commercial stakeholder, you will serve as the primary point of contact for both internal and external partners, leading technical discussions, project meetings, design reviews and management updates. You will provide expert guidance on complex engineering challenges and play a central role in shaping the future direction of product development within the business.

We are seeking an accomplished engineering professional who combines outstanding technical expertise with significant experience managing complex projects within a multinational environment. This role would particularly suit an engineer who has developed a strong technical foundation and subsequently moved into project or programme management, while retaining a passion for innovation and engineering excellence.

Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, together with the ability to influence cross-functional teams, manage competing priorities and drive projects through to successful completion.
