What kinds of audit jobs are available?

Finland has some leading well know global companies such as Nokia, Stora Enso & Fortum Power & Heat Oyj as well as other large international groups like UPM-Kymmene Corp., Outokumpu Oyj, Kesko Group, Outokumpu Oij, M-Real Oyj, Sampo, Metso Corp., Kone Corp, Metsa Serla Corp., Tamro Oyj, Huhtamaki Van Leer Oyj, Rautaruukki Oyj, Wartsila ex-Metra Oyj, Kemira, Partek, Elcoteq, These are obviously good places to start looking for audit roles


So will I need specific audit qualifications?

KHT is regarded as the primary qualification and is authorised by the Central Chamber of Commerce in Finland. Students must fulfil certain educational requirements, hold relevant professional experience and pass an examination of professional competence. Students must have completed studies necessary for the duties of an auditor in subjects which are laid down in the regulation of the Ministry of Trade and Industry and obtained a minimum of three years practical experience under the supervision of a KHT. HTM auditors must satisfy similar conditions but the grounding education may be from a lower university or polytechnic and the three years of practical experience may be less demanding.


Those wishing to undertake a CIA qualification should look at Finland’s chapter of the IIA. The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) has over 650 individual members.
