What kinds of audit jobs are available?
There are a number of global firms based in Estonia including 3M, Alstom, KPMG, Fujitsu, Procter & Gamble. Other large companies are Eesti Gas, Eesti Uhispank, IVO Energia, Laanema Elektrivork, Narva Elektrivork, Skype and Startekor.
So will I need specific audit qualifications?
There is no autonomous institute in Estonia. Most Estonians seeking an accounting qualification will usually take the ACCA. The Estonian Society of Internal Auditors (ESAÜ) is a voluntary membership with around 200 professionals. The ESAÜ license the operation is to provide the opportunity to perform the IIA exams conducted by internal auditors in Estonia. These exams are four types: • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), • Certified Government Audit Practitioner (CGAP), • Auditor Certified Control Self-Assessment (CCSA), • Certified Financial Sector Auditor (CFSA).
