What kinds of audit jobs are available?
With a strong international presence from multinational companies (both Fortune 500 companies and large Asian groups) and boasting a wide variety of commercial, financial services and consulting/big 4 groups Belgium should have enough open job positions to suit all tastes.
The majority of positions for the international groups are in Brussels or nearby area but also look out for positions in Antwerp, Liege, Ghent and Genk.

So will I need specific audit qualifications?

All international qualifications such as CISA, CPA, and ACCA will be welcomed by the big international companies.
The main Belgium qualification is the Bedrijvsrevisor or Reviseur d’Entreprise; this requires 3 years training at a recognised practice firm.
Internal auditors may well have the CIA, certified internal auditor qualification gained through the local chapter in Belgium. IIA Belgium was created as a Benelux Institute in 1977 and as a Belgium Institute since 1998. The Institute has grown in size and stature and currently has over 1.300 members active in internal audit and from all sectors.
For IT/Systems Auditors the ISACA chapter in Belgium is one of the largest in Europe.
